The television anime premiered in 2012, and Viz Media streamed it in North America as it aired. An English dub streamed on Viz‘s Neon Alley service. Viz released the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD. The anime has also inspired multiple manga adaptations and spinoffs.
Anime Expo in L.A. and Japan Expo in Paris hosted the world premieres of K: Missing Kings in July before it opened in Japan later that month. Eleven Arts also screened the film in Canada starting in late September.
